READY TO CLIMB LADDERS: AREA VOLUNTEERS PLANNING TO “RAISE THE ROOF” AT CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE CLINIC ARE (FROM LEFT): STEVE ZEHR (CCHC BOARD MEMBER), GERRY DOCTOR (CHURCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD), MICHAEL MARRIOTT (BUILDING HOPE), DAVE MUSSELMAN (BUILDING HOPE), AND MELVIN STEURY (NORTH LEO MENNONITE CHURCH).

Just two short months ago, Christian Community Healthcare Clinic, Grabill, was faced with the dilemma of a leaky roof in need of a complete overhaul.  While also experiencing a severe budget shortfall.  its board of directors immediately began publicizing a “Raise the Roof” campaign to fund the repairs.

“The response has been phenomenal from the area churches, businesses, and families!” declared Mark Schlatter, CCHC Board Chairman.  “God has certainly blessed us beyond what we imagined.” Volunteer workers are poised to install the new roof on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27.

The clinic is receiving key help from three area church work crews: Church of the Good Shepherd and North Leo Mennonite Church (Both in Leo-Cedarville) and the “Building Hope” team sponsored by Grace Point Church of the Nazarene (NE Fort Wayne). “We look for projects like this as our way of encouraging ministris and thier workers,” stated Dave Musselman, Director of Building Hope which has also secured major underwriting for the project.

After taking a summer break during the month of July, Christian Community Healthcare Clinic will reopen in August to continue to provide free medical services for area residents in need.  The Clinic is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights, with patient registration from 6:00pm-7:30pm for up to 12 patients per evening.  The clinic building is located at 13410 Main St, Grabill, IN 46741, and is also the site of satellite locations for a Hope Center (Free Pregnancy Services) and Super Shot (Free Child Immunizations).  For more information, you may call 260-627-CCHC or visit www.cchealthclinic.org.

NEW PROJECT! Christian Health Clinic in Grabill

We have an awesome new project: The Christian Health Clinic in Grabill. The Christian Health Clinic provides free healthcare. The building is also home to the HOPE Center, pregnancy and relationship counseling center.

We will be reroofing the building and providing additional support in cleaning, organizing, and other minor repairs.

The dates for the project are Friday and Saturday June 26th and 27th.

More specifics regarding the projects and times will be coming shortly. However, much of that will be determined by the response of our volunteers.

For now please consider joining us on this very meaningful project.

In order to plan our work we need you, the volunteers, to reply to this email with two bits of information:

First: The days (or hours) that you would like to contribute to the project.

Second: The probability that you will be able to join us: Maybe, likely, and Count me in.

My response: Friday and Saturday—Count me in.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

It’s great serving with you

Dave Musselman

Building Hope – Job Well Done

Jackie has a new roof thanks to the volunteers from Granite Ridge, Grace Point, and Building Hope.  A special thanks to Reese Supply, Home Lumber and Hahn Systems.
Jackie’s roof was described as “the worst I’ve seen in 30 years.”

Jackie’s told one of our volunteers that we were an answer to prayer.

An answer to prayer….. that’s what you are.

It’s great serving with you!

Here are a few photos from that day:  (Apology to all the workers who left before the photographs were taken)

Two Opportunities

I’m excited to announce two upcoming service projects.

Next Friday evening and Saturday (May 8,9)  we will be reroofing a home–weather permitting.   Think about it.  An elderly woman, ill, without the financial means or friends to repair her old leaky roof.  Until now!  Weather permitting, we’ll tear off on Friday and reshingle on Saturday. As soon as I have more details, I’ll pass them along.   If you’re planning on joining us, would you please reply to this email so I know to expect you?  If you can’t say for sure, you’re more than welcome to drop in and help as much or little as you like.   But, knowing who to expect when helps us plan.Secondly, we will be reroofing a Christian Community Health Care clinic sometime in late spring early summer.  They’re director is raising funds for materials and looking for volunteers.  I told him that I know folks that would love to get involved.  We don’t have a set date for this project, but I’ll pass this along to you as soon as we know.

A personal note: Each year our family sets aside some vacation time for projects like these.  Please consider reserving time off for Building HOPE.

Let’s do something meaningful together.

It’s great serving with you.
